I'm sure you've already been eyeing all the awesome new items, lucky for you, you can get it all right now in the Lil' Inker Store. Hopefully, you checked out all of Amy's blog amazing creations before hopping here. If not, make sure you check it out and if you get lost along the hop you can always find your spot by going to the Lil' Inker Blog. For now, I'm ready to show off some more fun stuff!

I'm sticking with butterflies today and sharing this card that I made with the Spread Your Wings Stamps.

I used two different gray card stocks to make my card base with a little strip of rose gold thrown in for good measure.  Next, I smooshed some gray water colors on the back of the large butterfly in the Spread Your Wings Stamps and stamped it on some watercolor paper. I dried it with my heat gun before embossing the image in rose gold over the smoosh. Next, I cut it out around the water color lines and decided where I would place it on my card. Before, sticking it down with foam tape, I stamped the sentiment also from Spread Your Wings Stamps and some smaller butterflies in various gray tones. I added small marker tip dots to the background with some metallic markers and a plack fine line copic pen. Here's a closer look:

Thanks for checking out my card for today and don't forget about our giveaway!

Lil' Inker Designs May Release Day #1

Hi, you guys! It's day one of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Blog Hop and I'm super excited to share all the new products with you! I think you are really going to enjoy this release and all the new inspiration from our team. It's packed with fun, as always and, lucky for you, all the new products are available right now at the Lil' Inker Store! We have an amazing blog hop for you today so, hopefully, you are coming from Amy's blog and if not, you won't want to miss her amazing creations! Make sure you didn't miss anyone and start at the Lil' Inker Blog. Now for the fun!

First off, here's one of my favorite cards that I made using the gorgeous Cover Up Die: Butterfly.

I worked and worked on getting this card just right and I love how it turned out. I started picking out the cool alcohol ink looking patterned paper background. Next, I cut the Cover Up Die: Butterfly from black, added some acetate behind and started to make the entire card front a shaker.  I got it all finished and realized that I forgot to leave a spot for a sentiment so I tried stamping one on the acetate after it was all assembled...we all know how that goes. Ha ha!  So, I grabbed the scraps of my patterned paper and cut the Cover Up Die: Butterfly out of that. Then, I filled in the outside areas with the new cuts and used some gold sticker words to add a sentiment.  SAVED!!! Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for looking at my project today! I can't wait to share more tomorrow. Don't forget about our giveaway!

CTS #282

Guess what?  I totally forgot to publish my post for CAS(E) this Sketch yesterday.  Ha ha ha.  The crazy part of that...I didn't realize it until this morning.  So, here it is!

Thanks so much for checking in to check out my card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I kept it simple again with zero stamping.  Just some fun with patterned paper.  Here's what I created:

I used two pre-made cards to created this one card.  I simply slice one up so I could put those candles at an angle and the back side of that card had those cute polka dots which I cut a strip out of to break up the craziness where my two busy patterns come together.  To finish it off, I added this fun golden sentiment that I had in a little cup on my desk just waiting to be used.  Super simple!  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me this week!  Make sure you check out all the awesome creations from the team over on the CAS(E) this Sketch blog!  Can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

A Tuesday Thanks

I thought I'd stop in this morning and share I made for my son to send out for confirmation thank yous.  I tried to pawn some of my the thank yous in my stash on him but he decided they were too girly.  Ha ha!  So, I started from scratch and created something, I don't think is too girly and he seemed to be good with them too.  Kids!  Here's my card:

I used my super fun and bold Mermaid Markers to make stripes in green and one in teal on the card front before adhering that to a teal card base.  Then to finish it off, I cut the Lil' Inkers Thanks Word Die from gold card stock and added it with some bits of foam tape to the front.  That's it.  Simple and not too girly, right?  Ha ha ha ha ha!  Have a great day.  Hopefully, I'll be down getting crafty this morning and I hope you get some time too.

Quick and Simple

It's Wednesday and I have a quick card to share in the little bit of time I have to sit and type.  Ha ha!  Some days are just like that, aren't they?

I've been meaning to share this card for awhile as it was my father-in-law's birthday card.  Well, I'm slow!  ;)  It's SO SO simple!  I started with a kraft cardbase stamped with these awesome triangle shapes which are actually trees from the Neat and Tangled Scandinavian Prints Christmas set.  I love this set and stamped in black, it really makes an impact!  Next, I embossed a verse from Papertrey Ink's Inspired: Grace Mini Stamp set in white on my design.  I finished it off with a layered cut using the Inspiried: Grace Die.  Here's another peek:

Like I said, easy as pie!  I love that you can set this up on a stamp positioner and crank out a whole bunch of them.  In fact, I might just do that when I get another second to settle down.  ;)  Have a great Wednesday!

CTS #252

Morning!  It's another awesome Thursday and I get to share my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  This is a longer than normal challenge to run through the holidays so you have plenty of time to play along!

I'm just getting things all wrapped up for Christmas and I actually feel like I'm ahead of the game this year.  I'm still in denial the Christmas is rapidly approaching.  I swear it still feels like October to me.

This past weekend was the church Christmas Program and with that behind me, I can relax.  I stress about it every year and every year, it goes smoothly.  Luckily, this year, there were only a few minor glitches (technology...what a love/hate relationship).  It is done and now I can have some fun.  Speaking of fun, have you see the new sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch?  It's an interesting one and I think I may have stumped a few designers.  Ha ha ha.

I will admit that while I loved the sketch, it took me a moment to come up with something.  I think the best part of a challenge sketch is the amazing things that come from the struggle.  The design team has some AMAZING creations this week and you simply have to check them out.  While you are here, here's my take:

I had a blast creating another fun shaker card with some fun elements from Queen & Co.  I added a strips of fun paper and a sentiment from the Pretty Presents Kit, a totally fun kit!  Then I started creating this adorable shaker piece with the super cute candle from the Shaped Shaker Birthday Set and some of the fun fillers in the Pretty Presents Kit.  I love how easy these awesome kits make creating shakers and I love how you can fill both the candle and the flame.  I usually avoid shaker cards at all cost but with these, you'll be seeing more from me!  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me today and I hope you have an amazing holiday no matter what you are doing!  See you over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

CTS #248

It's an awesome morning here in the Larson house!  My oldest turned 14 yesterday and got his Learner's Permit and I survived letting him drive on the highway at night.  WHOA!  I swear the kid is supposed to still be 10.  How in the world did this happen?  Luckily, he is a responsible, sweet, and caring young man and I'm so proud of him.  I'm busy gearing up for his friends to come over to spend the night tomorrow.  I'm sure they will have a blast and I will only lose small amounts of hair.  Ha ha!

I'm so glad I have an amazing hobby to keep me sane with all these changes going on around me.  Not only is the hobby awesome, the people that share this love of card making with me are awesome.  I have met so many amazing men and woman around the world through blogs and get togethers.  I am one lucky lady to be a part of all of this.

One of my favorite parts of this hobby is running CAS(E) this Sketch.  I sort of came to it on accident but I'm so SO glad it fell in my lap!  I just love being a part of people being inspired and sharing their amazing creations and I hope you all will continue to love our little challenge!  Ok, you came here for my card, not my rambling.  Ha ha!  Here's my take on this two-week challenge.

I found this cool paper in the Pinkfresh Studios Oh Joy 6x6 paper pack and the mistletoe peeking out of the top corner went perfectly with this week's sketch.  I cut it and lined it with some green cardstock for a border before adding it to another cool paper from the pack.  Then, all I had to do was create a sentiment.  I really have no idea where that acrylic? Merry came from.  It was probably a kit but it's been hanging around in my bins for awhile.  I figured it was time to get some use out of it.  So, I positioned that and then placed my stamps around it.  Then I removed the Merry and stamped the sentiment in place.  Finally, I glued down the my acrylic word.  It wasn't super easy to get a good photo of this card but I think you get the idea.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by and letting me ramble on!  I hope you'll join us over at CAS(E) this Sketch for a fun two-week challenge!  See you there.

Happy Mail with Right At Home

Good morning and I hope you are getting ready for an awesome week.  We have the Iowa State Fair starting this week and we always enjoy our trip down to explore the fair.  This year we are going to go down for the concert opening night and spend the night so we can hang out at the fair the next day.  I'm excited and am ready to get down there now.

I actually had so me time to create this week and I had some fun with some new to me products!  I have always loved Right at Home Stamps and took advantage of the awesome sale Nicole had a little while ago.  Here's one of the cards I created with my loot!

I started by stamping a yellow piece of cardstock with the Watercolor Background Stamp with a similar color ink to create a fun tone on tone background for my card.  Then, before I knew it, I got layering this patterned paper with this solid and I had a fun angled card front ready for stamping.  I stamped my sentiment from Simple Sentiments as a border along my yellow edge and then added some teal glitter tape and thin piece of black cardstock with foam tape to add another fun layer for these adorable flowers from Happy Mail.  I scattered my flowers and created dimension by layering and adding foam tape.  I loved how it looked but wanted a little more black so I got to work with my copic multi-liner.  I added dots around the top side of my tape and around my flowers.  I loved the finished look!  Here's a closer peek:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today!  I hope you have a fun day and I'll see you tomorrow with a new card!

You Are Lovely

Hi, everyone!!  I'm finally back and caught up after all the crazy travel last week.  Can I just say, driving from Iowa to Wisconsin to Ohio and back to Iowa in less than a week will do a person in.  I'm pooped!  Luckily, everything went well and we made it to pick up all children involved.  Now everyone is home and I can clean and do laundry...wait!?!?!  ;)  Luckily, I had a little time this morning to share a card I created before I left.  I hope you enjoy it!

So, I created this card for the Lil' Inker Designs June release but then I didn't like.  Well, I changed my mind again and now I do.  Ha ha!  I started by stamping my sentiment using the gorgeous Lovely and Sweet Stamps on a piece of vellum with Archival Ink.  I cut my vellum with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangle to frame my sentiment and then got to work adding extra touches in the corners using more stamps from Lovely and Sweet Stamps.  I layered it on a piece of black cardstock also cut with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangle and then layered the whole thing on a piece of patterned paper.  I felt like it needed a little something more so I used my white gel pen to add some extra accents here and there.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today.  I hope you are having an awesome week and are ready for a great weekend!  See you soon!

CTS #227

Good morning!  Today's post is a quick one for a quick card!  I had a ton of fun with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and I hope you will too.  Here's my card:

This card was made entirely with elements from the June Clique Kit.  I just loved this chevron paper and the Journal Card was the perfect sentiment and focal point.  I layered it on some navy paper and added it to my card front with foam tape.  To finish it off I added some heart from my own stash.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in today!  I hope you'll join us this week at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Frantic Stamper June Release Bumper Car

Good morning you guys!  I'm over the moon excited to be guest designing with Frantic Stamper for the next couple months.  I've been having a blast with the new and fun June release products and I can't wait to share all my projects.  If you love summer, state fairs, amusement parks, and the circus, you are going to have so much fun with this release.  I started today with a card using the Bumper Car Die.

This was one die that I couldn't wait to get my hands on!  I could think of a million different ways to use it and silly puns to add on as sentiments for example, "So happy to bump into you!"  How fun would that be?  I was digging through my patterned paper and this bright and cheery piece was screaming for a Bumper Car!  I cut it for my card front and got to work cutting our the pieces of my Bumper Car in coordinating card stock colors.  I added the finished car to my card front where all the rays of my paper come together using an action wobble spring.  So, not only is it cute, it wiggles!  I was going to create a sentiment with some alpha stickers (one of my puns) but I had these sentiment stickers that not only matched my colors perfectly but also created a sentiment that worked really well with my card.  I stuck those in place and finished the whole thing off with some wood veneer stars and asterisks.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I can't wait to share more of what I created with this awesome June release from Frantic Stamper.  See you soon!

CTS #224

Well, I learned something very important today.  It's Friday and not Thursday!  Ha ha ha!  How about that?  I had it in my head yesterday that it was Wednesday even though all the things I normally do on a Wednesday were done the day before.  I guess that is what happens when it's the first week of summer break, your husband is finishing up the planting, you kids have three rehearsals for a gymnastics recital, and your cat keeps waking you up at midnight and 2am.  So, it's Friday and I have messed everything up but I still have a card to share with you even if I'm late on everything.  Here's my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge:

I just love this sentiment set from Penny Black called All Great Things.  The sentiments are bold and so pretty.  They can hold down a card all on their own.  So, I combined the sentiment with some elements and papers from my Clique Kits.  Again, super easy and I could make several to donate to the church for birthday greetings.  Can't beat that!  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for putting up with me in all of my craziness!  I think I have things back under control but in this life...who really knows.  Ha ha!  Have an awesome weekend!!

CTS #223

Talk about slow going today!  I put off this post until this morning thinking I'd have plenty of time after my 7:30 doctor's appt to work on it.  Little did I know that it would take until 9:00 to be finished with the appt.  The day just got crazier after that too but I won't bore you with the whoas of a mom.  Ha ha!  I'm finally getting my card posted for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and the sad thing is, I'm late on my card for my own sketch.  Silly!  Better late then never.

Not even a single stamp was used on this card.  Crazy!  I used elements from the March 2017 Clique Kit called Play.  I just loved this little lion paired with the stars which I popped up with foam tape.  The sentiment is a combo of stickers I happened to have laying on my desk.  I thought it all worked perfectly with the sketch and I hope you like it!

Thanks so much for checking in with me even when I'm slow.  Have a great day and see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch!

CTS #219

Happy Thursday everyone!  Sorry things have been a bit quiet on the blog.  I'm gearing up for a new arrival!  He's fluffy and furry and we are so excited to bring him home to join our family.  Here's the latest picture of our little Loki Brown Whiskers who we pick up on Saturday.  I can't wait!

Maybe I'm going a bit crazy with the prep but I want to make sure boys haven't stashed rubber bands or other things I don't want a kitten swallowing where he can get at them.  I don't know if you have boys like mine but they have things stashed all over the place.  The hiding places are not limited to pockets.  :)

Now for what you really came here for.  Here's my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

Another super simple card that started with a fun background paper.  I added a black Stitched Scallop Border Die and then this cute chipboard flower and a sentiment I created with letter stickers and a small happy die.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you are ready for a super fun week at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I think you are going to really enjoy this sketch and all the inspiration for the team.  See you there!

CTS #218

Good morning!  It's a little slow going around the Larson house this week.  Things are starting to get busy and this may be out last week to relax for a bit.  Believe me, we are taking full advantage of it.  :)  The boys and I are taking walks and enjoy the lovely spring weather.  We hope you are having a nice week also and will have some time to get crafty with us over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  The sketch is super fun this week and the design team continues to wow!  Here's my take on the sketch:

I used some paper and elements from the April Clique Kit on my card and black piece of cardstock cut with the Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangles.  A bit of layering and some enamel dots was all it took to make this a fun little birthday card.  It may not be super CAS but I still love it!  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me today and I hope to see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!  Have a great day!

A Little Sympathy

Good morning!  I'm enjoying a little quiet time this morning before all the boys are up and ready to go.  My coffee is hot and my breakfast is tasty but my ear is still plugged.  At least, the rest of me is feeling better.  I hope you are all enjoying your morning and are gearing up for a great day.

Today, I'm sharing a couple of cards I made awhile ago for my hubby to use at the office.  He always needs a variety of cards for clients and I'm happy to have them be used.  Here's a look at what I created:

Talk about quick!  These cards didn't take long at all to create.  First I picked some patterned papers that I enjoyed and then some coordinating solid card stock.  I used the patterned paper for my card base and then layered a solid cut with the Lil' Inkers Designs Wrappers Delight: Lattice Die.  I love the touch of class this die adds to any card.  It's such a quick way to create interest on a card.  To finish it off, I added a quick sentiment with the With Sympathy Word Die.  Here's a closer look at the combos I came up with:

Thanks so much for checking in today!  I hope you have a great one!

More Color Blocking

I know!  I just can't get enough.  I'm having a blast using the  and it's really helping me burn through some extra patterned paper I've been meaning to use.  Today's card is another super simple combo of Lil' Inker Designs products that creates a serious impact.  I just love it!  Here's my card:

I chose these awesome papers from Simple Stories called Say Cheese.  I used the same technique to cut the papers as Monday's card.  I layered them before passing them through my die cut machine to be cut with the Color Blocking Die.  This one cut created three card fronts with different combos of the papers.  Talk about easy!  I chose another coordinating paper to be cut with Boxed Up Birthday Greeting Die and added it to the center of my card.  I was going to make it a shaker but ended up liking the clean look of the papers better.  Here's a closer look:

http://lilinkerdesigns.com/#_a_clarson

Thanks so much for checking out my card today!  Don't forget to check out the sale going on at Lil' Inker Designs today and tomorrow!  The sale includes everything except the latest release and for 15% off, I'm sure you can find some great deals!  Make sure you use the code NOSNOW17 and have fun shopping!  I hope you are having a great week.  It's finally warming back up again here.  Here's what I used for my card today:

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone is feeling especially loved today but I really REALLY hope that you feel that same love all year.  I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by loads of love and I'm so very thankful.  My hubby surprised us all with WAY too many donuts that he drove WAY too far to get WAY too early this morning.  He must love us WAY too much.  ;)  The three boys were in sugar heaven and I can't say I was too disappointed to have a bismark with my coffee.  He's pretty much the best husband ever!

The card I'm sharing today isn't exactly a Valentine's Day card but it has hearts so that works, right?  Ha ha!

I had a ton of fun with the Bubble Talk set from PTI and the die set as well.  Layers and layers of fun speech bubbles in fun grays and black with just a touch of red to make the hearts pop.  You could totally turn this into a Valentine but I think it makes a pretty sweet birthday card too!  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me on this day of hearts, flowers, and chocolates!  Have an amazing day and I'll see you back here Thursday for some sketchy fun!  Happy Valentine's Day!!!

CTS #208

How has another week flown by?  I had all kinds of good intentions this week and I haven't followed through with any of them.  Ah!  I have a ton of cards to share with you all but I just haven't had the time to work up all the posts.  I need to just get it done but it seems like something is always taking me away from the computer.  How does that happen?  Ha ha! Well, at least I know I'm going to get something posted on Thursdays because I can't help but share each week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge with you.  That would be horrible!  :)

This week's sketch is great and I hope you will come join us.  Here's what I came up with:

I tried and tried to build a little scene but I kept coming back to these dies from Papertrey Ink that I haven't even touched until now!  So, I decided to take the sketch a little less literally and I cut my couple from linen vellum and added them to my card front layered over a few Shine Stamp Set images and using the Grand Ampersand Die and Stamp set for my senitment.  Then I trimmed the gray paper using the Lil' Inker Designs Border Builders to allow a little sparkle to shine through.   Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card!  I'll see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Wintery Coffee Card

I think it's the perfect morning for a coffee card!  I made this card for a friend to give to her barista as a thank you.  I love that she is so awesome and thinks about all the people in her life that make her days brighter and wants to make sure they know she appreciates them.  Just think how awesome this world would be if we all showed our appreciation to each and everyone that impacts our lives even in the smallest way.  Not that coffee is a small endeavor!  He he he.

I love how this wintery card turned out and I hope you do too!

I have been hoarding this cool background paper for awhile now.  I just love the birch bark look of it.  It just screamed to be paired with this snowflake paper from Crate Paper.  So I stamped the saucer from the Concord & 9th Let's Chat Stamp set on the snowflake paper and cut it out as well as the cup with coffee stamped inside which I adhered to the saucer with foam tape for dimension.  I added elements from Crate Papers Snow & Cocoa all around my warm cup of cheer as well as enamel dots and wooden asterisks.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I always love sharing them with you!  Have a great 2017!!
