Good morning and happy spring!! It is finally feeling like spring weather is on it's way and I can't wait. I am ready to get the garden beds going and see the farmers out in the fields working. As busy as life gets during spring planting, I can't help but love being a part of it. It's always a fun time. Another fun time...the new CAS(E) this Sketch challenge this week. You won't want to miss it! Here's my take:
I kept this card SUPER CAS! I used an older Papertrey Ink set and I will run down and get the name of it to update this post in a bit. I stamped them in green and then used Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold, and the Happy stamp set stamped in black. I used a stone cardstock after trying various other shades. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and it makes a great masculine birthday card.
Thanks so much for checking out my card! I hope you'll join us this week at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Oops! I'm a little slow this morning but don't worry, I'm here now to share my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I had to do a super fast run in to school to drop off a forgotten backpack and it totally made me feel like I was in a Fast & Furious movie. Can you just imagine that as the plot? Mom's trying to deliver forgotten items to kids at school...what a riveting movie that would be. Anyway, the backpack was delivered and I didn't have to try to drift with our minivan. Too bad. ;) Here's my take on this week's challenge:
I had a blast with this one and wanted to do something different than what I did the first time. So, I found some cute papers from a Lawn Fawn paper pack and used the "Hello" die to divide them up kind of like the shapes in the sketch are divided. I then cut the hello in a different color and popped it up with some foam tape. Next, I colored this adorable girl from Waffle Flowers Crafts, added her to the front, and stamped a sentiment from that set on top of my hello. It is a pretty simple card but I think it still captures the essence of the sketch. Here's a closer look:
I hope your morning is starting off slower than mine and more relaxing. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

Happy Thursday! I'm SO ready for this week to be over. I have no idea why it feels like it is dragging so much but it has. I'm in need of a little R&R and fun this weekend. My little guy is turning 8 on the 1st and the only thing he wants to do is learn to make bath bombs with some of his friends. How cute is that? So, we will be experimenting with that this weekend and I'm sure we will have a blast!
You know how you can have a blast? Come join us at CAS(E) this Sketch!! We have a super fun sketch for you to play along with and I just know you'll create something you love! Here's what I created for this week's sketch:
I had some fun with some awesome Winnie & Walter products I have been neglecting. First, I used the In a Word: Hello Cutaway to my sentiment through the black card base. I added a rainbow dotted paper to the back of the card front to show through the negative space I left behind and then added the dot in the e and o as well as the space between the l's. Next, I stamped the banner from The Big, the Bold and Extras and filled it in with a sentiment from The Big, the Bold and the Happy. I cut it out and added it to the front. Easy as pie and super cute! Here's a close up:
Thanks so much for checking out my card today! I hope you will join us at CAS(E) this Sketch! We love seeing what you guys come up with!

Another Masculine Birthday Card
How are you guys this fine morning? The sun is slowing creeping up over the horizon here and the boys are getting their chores done with minimal complaining. I'm here sipping my coffee while I get ready to share another card with you today. I know, pick yourself up off the floor, I've actually been updating this blog more than once a week for the last two weeks. CRAZY! I'm trying. :) I love sharing my cards with you guys and I've been trying to figure out how to make it happen more often. So, I'm just jumping in!
Today's card uses the cut out letters from the cards I made using the design that can be found in this post. Here's my card for today:
I used the same paper pack that I used on my previous masculine birthday card, Simple Stories The Reset Girl Basics Kit. Next, I grabbed the letters that I didn't use created with the Journaling Alphas - Nice and Neat. Next, I stamped "birthday" using Winnie and Walter's The Big, The Bold, and The Happy stamp set on another sheet of patterned paper and cut it out in a triangle shape. I added everything to the card front, popping the triangle up with foam tape. That was it! Super easy. Here's a closer look:
Have a great Tuesday!!!

It's November??
Happy Tuesday! Can you even believe that it's November already? Maybe time is flying by because my kids have gotten me playing Hayday with them and some how that totally sucks up time. Ha ha ha! I'm not sure what it going on but I know time seems to be flying by. My husband is all for time moving along because he wants to get ready for Christmas already and I won't allow Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving. I'm such a fuddy duddy but if it were up to him we'd already have Christmas music playing. That's just crazy. Ha ha!!
Well, today I have another birthday card to share. I have been having tons of fun motivation while making cards and I'm trying to capitalize on it.
I used the same paper pack that I used on my previous masculine birthday card, Simple Stories The Reset Girl Basics Kit. Next, I grabbed these amazing letter dies from Neat and Tangled. I used the Journaling Alphas - Nice and Neat dies to cut out Happy from my main patterned paper sheet and layered a black printed paper behind. Next, I cutout some fun banners from scrap and stamped birthday using Winnie and Walter's The Big, The Bold, and The Happy stamp set. I layered the banners, popping one up with foam tape. To finish it off, I added some matte dots. Here's a closer look:
That's all for me today! I hope you enjoyed my card and are having a great day and week. See you again tomorrow!

CTS #172
Good morning!! I think the sun might actually shine here today. Too bad I'll be in the car for most of the day. Ha ha! We are going to head down to my nephew's All State Band concert this afternoon. I'm very excited to go watch him perform. He's a senior (can't believe that) and this will be the last time we'll get to watch him before he heads off to college. He's quite the musician and it's always great to watch a kid in their element.
Speaking of being in your element, this week's sketch is right up my alley! :) Make sure you go check it out on CAS(E) this Sketch. I know you will love what the design team came up with this week. I sure do! Here's my take on the sketch:
I started with a watercolor panel that I cut with Stitched Mats: Side-Stitched Rectangles. Next, I swiped some pinky watercolor on my panel and stamped some envelopes from Simon Says Sending Happy Thoughts randomly in my watercolor splotch. Next, I cut some Of the Heart Dies from vellum and added them to my background. I cut my Sending twice from black cardstock and layered my vellum banner stamped with a sentiment from The Big, The Bold, And Party from Winnie & Walter in between the two cuts. This allowed me to attach my banner to the card without being able to see the adhesive I used through the vellum. I added my finished card front to a card base of black and white stripes. I finished the card off with some heart stickers and hexagon confetti from Target.
I hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch and will join us today at CAS(E) this Sketch! Oh, and if you are interested in any of the Lil' Inker Designs products I used today, Laura is planning a great sale starting tomorrow! You can read all about it on the Lil' Inker Designs blog. Have a great day!
