My first card uses the Cover Up Die: Diamond Chevron,  the Whoops Stamp Set, and the Whoops Word Die.

I have no idea what made me think cactus when I saw the new Whoops Stamp Set and Whoops Word Die, but that is exactly where my mind went.  What better to pair with a cactus that some cool South West like patterns?  I grabbed my trusty Tribal Chic Stamp Set and got to work stamping a border across this piece of stone cardstock cut with Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles.  Next, I got to work on my cactus centerpiece using images from the So Prickly Stamp Set.  I masked and layered my images and trimmed them out by hand.  Next, I got to work on my sentiment.  I layered three cuts of the new Whoops Word Die to get some extra dimension and then added strips of words to finish off my sentiment using stamps from both So Prickly and the Whoops Stamp Set.  Here's a closer look:

Next up, I used the adorable new I'll Be Brief Stamps and I'll Be Brief Dies to create this fun card:

The adorable little underwear in I'll Be Brief Stamps just screamed background to me.  I got to work stamping them on fun papers and cutting them with the I'll Be Brief Dies.  I layered my colorful undies on this star paper cut with a die from the Silly Stitched Die Set.  I also using one to add some fun to my black card base before adding my panel.  I created a border with a shape from Long & Skinny Rectangles and stamped/embossed my sentiment from I'll Be Brief Stamps in the middle.  I finished it off with my copic colored croc and a bunch of black enamel dots.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura is giving away the ENTIRE RELEASE to one lucky commenter.  It could be you.  I'm sure I'll see you on the hop and tomorrow for another fun day of release projects.  See you then!

Lil' Inker Designs October Release Day #1

Hi, you guys!  It's day one of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Blog Hop and I'm super excited to share all the new products with you!  I think you are really going to enjoy this release and all the new inspiration from our team.  It's packed with fun, as always and, lucky for you, all the new products are available right now at the Lil' Inker Store!  We have an amazing blog hop for you today so, hopefully, you are coming from Jessica's blog and if not, you won't want to miss her amazing creations or anyone's for that matter!  So make sure you didn't miss anyone and start at the Lil' Inker Blog.  Now for the fun!

My projects today feature the products that are a little more whimsical and fun in my mind.  I started with probably my favorite set, Rustic Christmas stamps and the Rustic Christmas dies.  I just love the sketchy look of these.  Totally gorgeous!

I have been hoarding this gorgeous paper since last Christmas.  I was just waiting for the perfect stamp set to make the most of it and I found that in Rustic Christmas.  It almost looks like they were made for each other.  So, I started with this cute mountain scene and added a Dual Dotted Circle cut from the Super Kids Paper and stamped with the city scene in Rustic Christmas.  Next, I stamped and cut some trees and snowflakes in matching inks using the Rustic Christmas dies.  I cut a Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangle from our Ombre Stripes Paper Pad to stamp with the sentiment and layer with all the trees around the city.  A few sequins for some sparkle and my card was complete.  Here's a closer look:

Next up, something cute and a little snarky.  The Moody Santa Stamps and Moody Santa Dies fit the bill perfectly!  I paired those with a word from the new Brush Script Christmas Word Dies.  They are GORGEOUS!

I started this card with a paper from the Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  I just loved how the colors were Christmasy but not exactly.  I like playing with different colors at Christmas.  Next, I cut this gorgeous snowflake paper with the Silly Stitched Die Set.  I layered this on my card front and added a Stitched Scallop Border using paper from the So Prickly Paper Pack.  I stamped my sentiment from Moody Santa Stamps on a graph pocket scrapbooking card and trimmed it to fit under my border but not over the snowflake layer.  Next I stamped my santa using the fun faces included in the Moody Santa Stamps and cut him out using Moody Santa Dies.  I colored him with copic and added him to my card front.  Next, I added a Brush Script Christmas Word cut in black.  My card felt like it had a little hole in it so I thought about adding presents and the perfect present was in the Party Pachyderms Stamps.  Here's a closer look:

Please note the new and awesome prize for commenting along the hop!  You won't want to miss out on this chance!  :)

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura is giving away the ENTIRE NEW RELEASE to a lucky commenter during the new release hop.  You have until October 30th at 11:30PM EST to comment.  The winner could be you.  I hope you are enjoying our new release!  We love sharing these awesome products with you!  Be sure to keep hopping, here's the list:

CTS #177

It's another warm Thursday in Iowa!  Summer is certainly moving in and I feel like I'm melting already.  Ha ha!  During the winter I long for those days of summer where you can feel the sun baking your skin but when they actually get here, I realize that the cold must have done something to my brain.  I've never been a fan of the heat and you'd think I'd have some sort of immunity to it since I grew up in Florida.  No such luck!  Luckily, my boys seem to have no problem with it.  In fact, they love it.

I'm down to just one little dude with me today.  My oldest is at wakeboard camp and my middle guy is having way too much fun at bible camp.  See what I mean:

Luckily, I am having my own fun playing along with you guys at CAS(E) this Sketch.  This week's sketch is super fun and I hope you'll come join us.  Here's what I created:

I started my card with this ombre paper as my base.  I chose this triangle paper from Lil' Inker Designs' Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  I trimmed out a portion of my paper to wrap around the corner of my card just like the sketch!  Before adding it to my card base with foam tape, stamped this sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Sending and Wishing stamp set.  I was pretty happy with how it turned out and think it will make a great guy card.

Thanks so much for checking out my card this morning.  I hope you'll join us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.  I can't wait to see what you come up with.  Have a great day.

CTS #173

Thursday, Thursday!!!  I always love Thursdays because I get to share my take on the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge with you.  I really loved today's sketch and I hope you'll come play along with us this week.

Here's what I came up with:

I decided to go with triangles like the sketch so I cut various colors of paper with the Dual Stitched Triangle Dies.  The arrow triangle is cut from paper in the Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  I cut a cute striped kraft bag to make my background and layered my triangles on the bag.  Then I cut this cute friend die and added it to my triangle layers.  I finished the card off with a sentiment from Sketched Floral Stamps.  Super easy and fun.

Hope you like my creation for the week an will join us over at CAS(E) this Sketch!  See you there.  Here's what I used on my card:

Lil' Inker Designs Spring Sale!

It's a great day to be a cardmaker, scrapbooker, or just crafter in general.  Why?  Lil' Inker Designs Spring Sale, of course!!  You can read all about it on the Lil' Inker Designs Blog but you will not want to miss out on 16% off everything (excluding the April 2016 release items) by using the code SPRING16.  It's a great deal!  To get you even more excited, Laura is releasing the new Perfect Pairs Die Set to coordinate with the Perfect Pairs Stamp Set.  You remember that adorable set, right???  Let me refresh your memory...

http://chrissycards.blogspot.com/2015/01/lil-inker-designs-january-release-blog_12.html     http://chrissycards.blogspot.com/2015/02/peanut-butter-jelly-time.html

You can read more about these two cards by clicking on them.  For now, I'm going to show you the new card I made incorporating the new dies!

I started this card by stamping and cutting my "sandwich in the making" with the  Perfect Pairs Die Set and the Perfect Pairs Stamp Set on water color paper.  I used distress makers to water color my PB&J and then added glossy accents to the little heart shapes at the top.  Next I made a card front using the Tribal Chic Paper Pack (April 2016 Release) and also used another paper from the pack to cut my frame using the new Fringed Scalloped Rectangles Dies.  I added a Doodled Love Word Die cut from cork card stock to my frame and then stamped a sentiment from the Perfect Pairs Stamp Set right above it before adding my sweet little sandwich.  A few enameled hearts finished off the whole card just right.

I hope you will go check out the awesome sale (CODE: SPRING16) and that you enjoyed my new take on these awesome stamps and new dies!  I swear, you'll love them.  Here's what I used today:

Another Take On CTS #170!

Happy Wednesday morning!  I'm hopping on today to share a card I made with the current sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Hopefully, it will get you excited and you'll join us this week!  The sketch closes tomorrow but don't worry, we have another super fun challenge ready to go.  :)

Here's my card:

I started with this fun background paper from Lil' Inker Designs Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  I then used the Grand Happy Birthday die from Memory Box.  I thought it would be super fun to put it on an angle.  I was so happy with how it turned out, I didn't think it needed anything more.  Talk about a great masculine card!  I'll be making more of these, that's for sure.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog today!  The boys and I will be chasing farmers to fields today making sure they are fed and watered.  Ha ha ha!  They are worse than any livestock but someone has to get the corn and beans in.  :)  Hope you have a great day!
