Grad Time!

It's that time of year again and I'm busy working on graduation cards.  I can tell we are getting older because friends and family now have kids graduating and I know it won't be long until I'm in that boat.  Doesn't seem possible!  The card I'm sharing today is for a very special girl who is going to make a name for herself no matter where she goes or what she does.  A girl like that, deserves a card as fun and unique as she is.  So, I created this fun card and I hope it will make her smile.

I knew I wanted to use various fonts for my sentiment and I just loved these yellow chipboard letters so I picked my coloring scheme based on them.  Yellow just looks so nice with black...you can't argue with a bee afterall.  I grabbed a fun black and white speckled paper for my card base and stamped some graduation caps and "2017" from Grad Class Stamps randomly on a yellow faceted paper to create a a border across my card front.  I cut a white piece of card stock using Dual Stitched Rectangles to serve as my base for the sentiment.  I created my sentiment using the chipboard letters, letter stickers, and two stamp sets:  Sassy Script Stamps and Pretty Painted Alphabet Stamps.  I backed this layer with some black card stock to make it pop.  After all was said and done, I thought the chipboard letters needed a little black so I drew a line separating the solid portion from the dotted portion.  I topped off the the "G" with a grad cap from Grad Class Stamps.  Here's another look:

I hope you liked my card today and I hope you have some awesome grads that you are creating for.  It's always so fun to create something with a specific person in mind.  It always makes me smile.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day.

Lil' Inker Designs December Release Day #1

Hi, you guys!  It's day one of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Blog Hop and I'm super excited to share all the new products with you!  I think you are really going to enjoy this release and all the new inspiration from our team.  It's packed with fun, as always and, lucky for you, all the new products are available right now at the Lil' Inker Store!  We have an amazing blog hop for you today so, hopefully, you are coming from Angel's blog and if not, you won't want to miss her amazing creations or anyone's for that matter!  So make sure you didn't miss anyone and start at the Lil' Inker Blog.  Now for the fun!

I got a little scripty today with my creations.  My first card uses the Sassy Script Capitals & Number Stamps, a great addition to the original Sassy Script Stamps.

I chose this gray star paper because it made me think of the Rustic Christmas Stamp Set.  I know I know!!  I just can't stop using it.  I combined the new Sassy Script Capitals & Number Stamps with the previously released Sassy Script Stamps to create this sentiment with the addition of some letter stickers.  Once I finished my sentiment, I filled in with images from the Rustic Christmas Stamp Set.  Then I cut both my sentiment layer and my cardbase with Silly Stitched Die Set.  A few dots of red paint added a touch of color.  That just took the homespun look over the edge.  Here's a closer look:

Next up, another card using the Sassy Script Capitals & Number Stamps.

This card all started with some masking fluid.  I got a crazy wild hair and decided to mask off a swoosh of chilly winter wind.  So, I took my time and drew my swoosh with masking fluid on watercolor paper.  When the masking fluid dried, I did a quick wash of watercolor for the background.  Then I stamped my trees from Rustic Christmas Stamp Set in place behind my swoosh and then rubbed away the masking fluid.  Next, I stamped some snowflakes in place.  I got my sentiment all set out using Sassy Script Capitals & Number Stamps and Sassy Script Stamps and stamped it in place before cutting it out with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangles.  I tried a ton of different backgrounds before settling on this chilly black and white word cardbase cut with Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangles. A few wooden asterisks and the card was done.  Here's a closer look:

Lil' Inker Designs June Release Day #2

It's day two of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Hop and I get to share even more fun goodies with you today!  I'm sure you've already been eyeing all the awesome new items, lucky for you, you can get it all right now in the Lil' Inker Store.  I'm your first stop on the blog hop today and I hope to get you all excited to visit the rest of the team.  If you get lost along the hop you can always find your spot by going to the Lil' Inker Blog.  For now, I'm ready to show off some more fun stuff!

First up, I made this cute little birthday card using the new Sassy Script Stamps.

I started this card with the fun patterned paper which made me want to use the amazing Balloon Dies to up the fun factor even more.  I layered a striped paper on my polka dot card base.  See the subtle black specks on my striped paper?  Well, I accidentally dropped a black ink pad on a corner of the paper (it happens when you are a messy crafter).  At first I was angry and was going to throw it away but then, I decided to drop my ink pad a few more times and see how it looked.  Turns out, it was a happy mistake.  To bring in a little more black, I diecut the Stitched Scallop Border Die from a black and white patterned paper and added it to my focal point which I had embossed part of my sentiment stamped with the Sassy Script Stamps.  I create birthday cards for my church to mail out and it is always challenging to find the right sentiment.  Sassy Script Stamps makes it a breeze since I can create my own!  To finish my sentiment, I inked just the "have a" portion of a sentiment from Kite Flying Stamps.  I added my Stitched Scallop Border Die and finished off the sentiment with letters cut using the Mixed & Stitched Alphabet Die Set.  I drew a sting and added my star balloon and some enamel dots to finish it all off.  Here's a closer look:

Next up, I decided to go a touch masculine with Sassy Script Stamps.

I started this card with a water colored panel cut with Side-Stitched Rectangles.  I used Sassy Script Stamps to stamp more of my sentiment this time and still used Kite Flying Stamps to finish it off.  I thought the card needed a stamped element to help anchor the sentiment so I added the branch from Vintage Ink Stamps.  Some enamel dots and a navy card base finish off the card.  I think it will make a great guy card!

My final card for today features the recently release Perfect Pairs Die Set.

The Perfect Pairs Stamp Set is one of my favorite stamp sets!  I just adore the cute little images and the sentiments are super fun too!  Having the Perfect Pairs Die Set just makes them even more fun!  I started this card with some fun patterned paper from the Tribal Chic Paper Pack.  I cute some using the Dual Stitched Triangle Dies and arranged them across the front of my card.  I stamped my eggs and bacon using the Perfect Pairs Stamp Set and cut it out with the Perfect Pairs Die Set.  After coloring them, I added them with the sentiment to my card.  Can't think of a more perfect pair than bacon and eggs!  Yum!

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura gives out a $15 Lil' Inker Designs store credit to a lucky commenter each day of the hop.  It could be you.  I'm sure I'll see you on the hop and tomorrow for another fun day of release projects.  See you then!
