I have made a pact with myself that every week I'm going to try to play in at least one challenge (aside from the ones I'm lucky enough to be a part of). There are SO many fun and inspiring challenges out there and I'm always in need of birthday cards to donate to our church. I figured this would be a good way to have some fun and make a ton of birthday cards in the process. I'm not a mass producer, as much as I've tried, so this should really help me keep my creative juices flowing. ;)
The first challenge I decided to try this week is the amazing sketch challenge at Reverse Confetti. I know you all know I love sketches...I've only said it a million and 2 times. Ha ha! I especially had fun with this month's Sketch For You To Try challenge. I love how I have a whole month to play with this sketch and I just might be making another card or two with it. Here's what I came up with and the sketch:
I used a fun new pattern paper pad for all the fun colors on this card. I knew I wanted stars and the Stars Pretty Panels was just calling my name. So, I cut my two rectangles of pattern and layered those on a navy base. Then I cut my Stars Pretty Panels from a minty turquoise (?) paper and layered that over a bit of vellum to ensure my stars really popped! Then I stamped my sentiment (from Folded Tag Sentiments) in a bright pink and added two fun shiny banners behind it before layering it on my star panel. Finally, some enamel dots and star sequins add just a touch more sparkle to this fun birthday card.
Thanks SO much for checking out my card. I can't wait to play in this fun challenge again! Thanks Reverse Confetti!
So glad you joined us! It is a great sketch and you rocked it. Love the fun festive feel of this.
