CTS #100

Good morning!  100 sketches...wow.  How in the world did we get to 100 already?  It's amazing and I hope you have checked out the CAS(E) this Sketch blog to see all the fun that is going on with our 100th sketch.  The design team has some amazing creations to share and a little something up their sleeve for the winner.  We hope you'll join us for this awesome challenge!  Here's the sketch:

I decided to use the sketch for a modern take on a Christmas card.  I had this gorgeous dark wood grain paper that I knew would make some glitter pop.  I used American Crafts glitter tape to make my chevron pattern.  It took a little time but I LOVE the results.  I finished the whole thing off using the Joy Word Die from Lil' Inker Designs.  I'm super happy with my card and I hope you'll have fun with our sketch this week as well.

I'll see you over at the CAS(E) this Sketch blog for all the fun!  Have a great day.

Papertrey Ink Day #10

I finally got a moment this week to sit down and complete a card for Papertrey Ink's anniversary celebration and February release sneak peek week!  Today, we had to make an interactive card to celebrate the new Mover's & Shaker's dies coming out this month.  I am like a kid in a candy store with these dies on the horizon!  I can hardly wait as I do love interactive cards.  Here's my card:

This card is made using the Double Sliding Thank You Card template for my Silhouette.  I cut the card out of some shiny cardstock I had laying around and then used PTI's Sweet Symphony paper for the internal sliders which I will show you in a second.  Kraft paper is layered on the outside of the card with numbers from the By the Numbers die set cut out of various papers I had on my desk.  I stamped the chevron design with an American crafts set I had in Enchanted Evening ink.  Now for the fun part...

The top and bottom pull out of this card to reveal the Sweet Symphony paper!  I also added a Happy Day die cut from the same paper of the card.  Layered on top of the die is a circle stamped with Ali Edwards' A Million & One sentiment.

This was tons of fun to put together and I love the finished product!  I do look forward to having an even easier method for making interactive cards.  I hope you enjoyed my card!
