CTS #344

Good afternoon you guys! Yup, I'm a little late getting my card posted. I realized this morning that I made a card but didn't photograph it. It's not easy to resolve that problem at 6:00 in the morning when the sun is still down. Don't worry though, I finally got a picture or two and can share my card. I had a blast with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch card but created something that wasn't at all what I had in mind when I created the sketch. Who knows what I was thinking...ha ha. Here's what I finally came up with:

I have been dying to use these snow globes from Pinkfresh Studio since I pre-ordered them FOREVER ago. I created my globe with the cute pink house and some of the star/snowflakes(?) in the pack. I also stamped some snow inside. I used an older piece of patterned paper from a Reverse Confetti paper pack and added some more snowflakes and enamel dots outside of my central image. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today. I hope you will join us at CAS(E) this Sketch!

CTS #339

I'm slowly but surely getting back in the groove of this creating thing.  I may have finished this card in the nick of time for this challenge but it did get done, right?  ;)  I just couldn't help but get something made of this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge...it is such a fun sketch after all.  Ha ha!  Here's what I created:

I went a little folksy with this week's sketch. I started by embossing a white card base with this pretty tulip design. Next, I cut the Pinkfresh Studio's Folklore die from white card stock and attached it to red card stock. The I cut a portion of the layered piece with a rounded rectangle die. I attached this piece to the card front with foam rapt and finished it all off with some gold Thickers. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking our my card this week and I hope to see you all over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

CTS #329

Good morning and happy 4th of July to those of us in the US. I hope you all are enjoying you July so far. I still am having a hard time believing how fast this year is flying by! It's crazy. We are getting ready to load up and head to the water park today and the boys are super excited. Of course, the weather is less than ideal but we will make the best of it. I'm just glad to have a day to take a break and have some fun with the boys and my husband. Speaking of taking a break, why don't you take a break and join us this week at CAS(E) this Sketch for another fun challenge.  Here's the card I created:

I am super happy with how this card turned out but super annoyed with our weather not letting me get a good picture. I'll see if I can get a better one if the sun ever comes out. The base is a light gray cardstock and I cut different sized rectangles from a dark gray, yellow, and vellum. Next, I die cut the Pinkfresh Studios Smile die from navy and added it with some foam squares. It still needed a little something so I added stripes of navy to finish it off.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me this morning and I can't wait to see what you create over at CAS(E) this Sketch.

CTS #269

Happy happy Spring!!!  Finally!  It is so wonderful to actually feel like the snow is gone.  I was even so motivated that I set up the boys' trampoline.  I think my children have been itching for Spring a bit too much because they have been playing with water balloons every day that it breaks 60 degrees.  I told them they were going to freeze but they swear it is SO hot out.  Ha ha ha!  Crazy boys.

This week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge is a great sketch and our guest designer is awesome.  So make sure you go and check out what the whole team has created.  Here's my card for the week:

I stamped some of the adorable florals from Pinkfresh Studio's Fleur 1 in each corner and water colored them with some of my softer colors.  Then I stamped a sentiment from Penny Black's All Great Things stamp set in the mix.  I trimmed the the water color layer down and attached it to a black card base.  Super simple but super cute.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I hope you'll be playing along with us at CAS(E) this Sketch

CTS #268

Good morning!  Just a quick post as I'm running out to head down to Des Moines for (hopefully) the last shoulder appointment for my middle guy.  Today we find out if he will need a bone graft to heal the cyst in his humerous or if it has healed on its own and he is cleared for gymnastics again.  Here's hoping he's good to go!!  So, I'm sorry my post is so quick but I have to get these three boys dressed and out the door.  ;)

Here's the card I created for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I do hope the sketch doesn't stump you.  I feel like I must think in really odd ways that confuse people.  Ha ha!  Well, here's my take:

I had fun layering the different stamps in the Pinkfresh Studio set called Semi Circle Patterns.  I chose a navy, coral, mustard, and peach combo and went about stamping layer upon layer.  I finished it off with a sentiment from Bouquet of Hearts.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you at CAS(E) this Sketch!

CTS #236

Good morning!!  Is anyone already settled in their back to school routines?  Wowza!  I woked up "late" this morning and feel like I'm chasing my own tail.  Ha ha!  Luckily, I know that slowly but surely I'll get back in the groove but I'm totally not there yet.  Lucky for me, I'm almost always in the groove when it comes to sketches and this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge is no exception.  Here's my card:

I had a great time with this card and it all started with this adorable giraffe from Pink Fresh Studio.  I decided to keep him black and white to go with the background paper.  Then I added a punch of color with a yellow piece cut using Stitched Mats: Side-Stitched Rectangles.  I needed a place for my sentiment so I went with a black piece of cardstock cut with a Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangle.  Then, I decided I needed something between the giraffe and the yellow so I softened it with a piece of polka dot vellum cut with a Fringe Scalloped Circles Die.  I finished it all off with some puffy stickers from Elle’s Studio Live Love Laugh collection.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me today!  I hope you'll join us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!  See you there!

CTS #214

Hi everyone!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to check out my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I must admit that I was a little nervous about this sketch but once I got going, I was totally inspired.  I hope you will be also and I hope you'll join us this week.  We'd love to see what you create.  It always makes us smile and helps inspire us to keep creating for you.  Thanks so much!  Here's my creation for this week:

I found this gorgeous floral paper while flipping through the Pinkfresh Studio Indigo Hill paper line.  It seemed to fit with the sketch perfectly.  Then I needed a frame and I thought the frame from the Lil' Inker Designs So Thankful Stamps and cut with the So Thankful Label Die was the perfect fit.  I stamped the frame and sentiment from Awesome Blossoms Stamps in navy and added a few enamel dots to the bottom for fun.  I needed some flowers to arrange around the frame and Awesome Blossoms Stamps seemed like the perfect option.  I stamped the blossoms in various shades of yellow and cut them using the Awesome Blossoms Dies.  I arranged the flowers and leaves around the frame popping some with foam tape for dimension.

Thanks so much for checking out my blog and for joining us at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.  Can't wait to see your creation.  Here's what I used for mine:
