Isn't it simply fabulous? I was surprised I liked it as much as I did because I am NOT a lacy, sparkly, girly girl in the least but this pictured brought me back to more of a romantic time period rather than a froofy girly feeling. The first thing that jumped out at me was the doily-like fabric and I new I wanted to do something with that in an embossing technique. The next thing that caught my eye was the gold polka dots. Really, how could you miss them? I also really loved the monochromatic feel to the picture. So, with all of that swimming in my head, I got started. Here's what I came up with:
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics II, Modern Wood Mats, Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)
Inks: VersaMark (Tsukineko), Classic Kraft (PTI),
Paper: Classic Kraft, Vintage Cream (PTI)
Dies: Mat Stack 4, Doily Details Die Collection (PTI)
Misc: Gold Embossing Powder (Tsukineko), Flower (Prima), Foam Tape (Scotch)
I embossed one row of dots with gold to represent those lovely gold dots in the picture and then followed them with another set of dots that are simply stamped with VersaMark to play on the monochromatic effect it provides. I then stamped the wood grain version of my frame to provide a shadow for my popped up frame. I used my doily dies to emboss the Mat Stack 4 shape and to provide a spot for my sentiment and flower. Over all I like the style of the card and I'm happy with how it turned out!
Let's see what you can come up with! Jump on over to the challenge and make something!
