Why Haven't I Used That #4

Good morning and happy Wednesday! How are you guys doing? I hope well and I also hope you are ready for another graduation card. I have been working really hard on all the grad cards I will need in the coming months and the more I work on them, the more it dawns on me that my oldest is going to be a senior next year and that just seems crazy! It also seems crazy that it has taken me this long to use this awesome stamp from Taylored Expressions. Here's what I created this week:

I just love this graduation stamp and I have no idea why it took me so long to use it. I stamped the image and then colored it in with copics. Then to finish it off, I just added some fun patterened paper and a strip of black. Super simple but I love it! Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today! Have a great day.

Why Haven't I Used That?

In my attempt to get myself creating and blogging again and more regularly, I've decided to give myself a theme for three days of the week. That way, I have an idea of what to make and maybe a little direction but it also ensures that I have a reason to put something on my blog at least three times a week. While I was trying to decide what in the world I should do for these themes, I was flipping through my stamps (which are all very well organized thanks to lock downs). I kept flipping by sets that I purchased but never even used. It wasn't that I didn't like them still. I just got caught up in something else and before I knew it, there was another product to buy or use and I forgot that I even owned the other. With that in mind, I have decided to declare Wednesdays, Why Haven't I Used That? day.

I'm going to make and post a card using a stamp set, die set, or any other product that I bought, still love, and have no idea why I haven't made a card using it yet. I know I'm not alone in this and I would LOVE it if you guys would join me and share a link to your creation in the comments. I'd love to check out what you have created and get more people using their poor un-inked sets. Let's do it for the poor abandoned products!

Here's my first take:

I bought this Taylored Expressions Stamp & Die set way back in 2017. I have no idea how I haven't used it because I love coffee cards SO much. I'm going to blame it on not being very well organized. Regardless, it got some ink today! I created a background by repeating my coffee cup image all over the card. Then I stamped and cut out an image and a cup sleeve with the die set. After coloring that image, I popped it on the card front with some foam tape for dimension. I was going to leave the other cups plain but it just wasn't how I expected it to look so, colored them in using lighter colors. That was exactly what I was going for. Here's a closer look:

Thanks SO much for checking out my card today and I hope you'll grab something un-inked in your own stash. I'd love to see what you create so, please share in the comments so I can hop on over to your blog and check it out. Have a great week!

CTS #350

Good morning and welcome to another awesome week of sketch fun!  I hope you will all be able to join us over at CAS(E) this Sketch for this super fun challenge.  You won't want to miss what the team has created!  Here's my card for the week:

I had a great time with this sketch and I got to use a stamp set that I have been dying to use since I purchased it. I stamped the Jolly Holly Cling & Clear Stamp Set from Taylored Expressions first in gold ink on my kraft card base. Next, I stamped it in black and filled in with the clear stamps using two different colors of green and red. I trimmed this piece so that it would match up with my background lines and added it with foam tape. Next, I cut Merry from gold cardstock using the retired Winter Words Die Set. I layered that with some red glitter tape and green cardstock stamped with a sentiment from the retired Winter Words Coordinates. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card and I hope you will join us this week at CAS(E) this Sketch!

CTS #349

Can you believe we are right on the verge of 350 sketches? That just seems crazy. I think you are going to really enjoy this sketch however and you get to use it for two weeks. I always love when we have a two-week sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. It gives me plenty of time to play with the sketch and make two of three of the ideas I have floating around in my mind. I hope you will get the chance to join us in the fun. Here's the first card I created and, hopefully, I will be able to create some more.

I had a great time with this card. I started with some teal cardstock and this gorgeous snowflake stencil from Taylored Expressions. I inked it up with white pigment ink and set it aside to dry. Next, I cut out my Joy from My Favorite Things in a very light frosty blue and a snowflake from silver glitter paper. Next, I cut a little banner from PTI from a thick vellum and added my Joy with foam tape for some dimension. I added that to my card and then trimmed the edges to fit on a card base made with the same light blue paper. Here's a close up:

Thanks so much for checking out my card! I can't wait to see what you create for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.
