Lil' Inker Designs October Release Day #2

It's day two of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Hop and I get to share even more fun goodies with you today as well as a new prize for commenters!  I'm sure you've already been eyeing all the awesome new items, lucky for you, you can get it all right now in the Lil' Inker Store.  Hopefully, you checked out all of Karen's amazing creations before hopping here.  If not of it you get lost along the hop you can always find your spot by going to the Lil' Inker Blog.  For now, I'm ready to show off some more fun stuff!

First up, I decided to try my hand at lighting a card up and this Baubled Christmas Wreath Die seemed like a perfect shape to light.  I paired it with the new Merry Christmas Word Die and some previously released items to make this enlightening card.  ;)

I started by card by cutting my wood paper with the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles.  This gave me the layers I needed to create my circuit.  I embossed the top rectangle using the Quilted Stitched Spirals Die.  Next, I cut my Baubled Christmas Wreath Die from green and added a layer of vellum to the back, trimming around the edges.  The vellum hides my circuitry and bulbs while also softening and dispersing the light.  I added my shiny red Merry Christmas to the wreath and added some holly using the Holly Jolly Dies.  I arranged the holly over the spot where you could press to light the wreath.  You can find a ton of YouTube videos on how exactly to create a lighted card so, I won't go into the exactly layout of my circuit.  After I had my battery and lights in place, I added my wreath with some foam tape to finish the card.  Here's a closer look at the card both lit and unlit:

Next up, I created this simple and fun shaped card using the new Merry Christmas Border Die.

I started with a cute holly paper cut using the Wonky Rectangles Dies.  I cut another Wonky Rectangle from a vellum and a green patterned paper.  I layered the vellum cut over the holly paper to add a soft touch.  Then, I used the Merry Christmas Border Die to divide my green rectangle before adding it to the front.  I loved the look of it but felt it needed a touch of holly to finish it off.  So, I used the Holly Jolly Dies and an enamel dot to complete everything.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura has decided to shake things up and give away the ENTIRE RELEASE to one lucky commenter.  It could be you.  I'm sure I'll see you on the hop and tomorrow for another fun day of release projects.  See you then!

CTS #183

Good morning, everyone!!  I hope you are having a great week!  We are having a great one.  Hanging out with friends on Monday and Tuesday, made the boys super excited.  We did tons of fun stuff including a nice 2 mile walk before playing at the park.  Of course, you would have thought I was killing all of the children making them walk SO far.  Ha ha!  I think they had a little bit of fun though.  There are lots of bridges to throw rocks from along the trail and it's a gorgeous trail.

It looks horrible, doesn't it?  Ha ha ha!  Kids!  The best part was that I took them to get ice cream after since I heard so many, "I'm HOT!" complaints.  Well, after ice cream, I got to hear, "I'm freezing" and, "Can you get goosebumps on your face?  I think I have them."  It was quite a trip.  ;)

Well, I had a great time with the sketch this week at CAS(E) this Sketch but I was so busy, I forgot to photograph it.  So, I did a really quick picture right before typing up this post.  I hope it does the card justice.  Some weeks, right?  Here's my card:

I used the new Lil' Inker Designs Quilted Stitched Spirals Cover Up Die to create texture on my card front before adding a layer of watercolor paper cut with Silly Stitched Die Set.  I painted on my three stripes using Distress Ink then inked up my The Little Things Stamps with an ombre inkpad from Hero Arts before cutting the bird out using The Little Things Dies.  I added my bird and branch to the water colored panel and finished it off with a sentiment from The Little Things Stamps.  I went REALLY literal with this sketch and I hope you like it!

Thanks for checking out my card and I hope to see you over at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!  Here are the stamps and dies I used on this card:

Lil' Inker Designs July Release Day #1

Hi, you guys!  It's day one of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Blog Hop and I'm super excited to share all the new products with you!  I think you are really going to enjoy this release and all the new inspiration from our team.  It's packed with fun, as always and, lucky for you, all the new products are available right now at the Lil' Inker Store!  We have an amazing blog hop for you today so, hopefully, you are coming from Karen's blog and if not, you won't want to miss her amazing creations or anyone's for that matter!  So make sure you didn't miss anyone and start at the Lil' Inker Blog.  Now for the fun!

My first project for today features Doodled Daisies Stamps, Doodled Daisies Dies, and the Happy Birthday Border Die.

I actually started this card playing around with all the different combos of dies and stamp options available using Doodled Daisies Stamps and Doodled Daisies Dies.  These are really fun to play with and I enjoyed mixing and matching solid stamps with the image stamps.  When my desk was full of flowers, I realized I better figure out what I wanted to do with them all.  I found this green pattern paper that reminded me of the doodled quality of my stamped images so I went with that for a card base.  Next, I new I was dying to use the Happy Birthday Border Die so I cut it from black to make it really stand out against the green.  I added it to my card front using some foam tape so I had plenty of room to arrange flowers in front and behind the cut.  I laid all my flowers out so I could get the alignment of the swirly sprig just right before stamping it in black on my patterned paper.  Next, I fastened all my blooms to my card.  Here's a closer look at the dimension:

Next up, I had tons of fun with the new Quilted Stitched Spirals Cover Up Die and the Boxed Up So Happy For You Die.

I started by cutting the Boxed Up So Happy For You Die from a sheet of cork.  I was really in the mood for cork.  Ha ha!  It looked awesome, especially when I lined it with black card stock.  I played with various color combos but I ended up loving it with black and gold.  I embossed the Quilted Stitched Spirals Cover Up Die on my black card base and strip of gold paper at the same time so the swirl pattern was continuous across the two.  Next I wound some twine around the gold section before adding the Boxed Up So Happy For You with foam tape.   I added some glitter stars and a dot for a little extra fun.  My favorite part of this card?  They way the swirls look on the gold paper.  Check it out in the close up:

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura gives out a $15 Lil' Inker Designs store credit to a lucky commenter each day of the hop.  It could be you.  I'm sure I'll see you on the hop and tomorrow for another fun day of release projects.  See you then!
