Good morning everyone! It's another fun day today at the Sweet Stamp Shop Blog and shop. We have a 2nd release for June and it is jam packed with fun! You won't want to miss it. I was lucky enough to get to play with 3 sets this go round and I had a blast with each one.
First up, Koala Family:
This first card is for a big brother from his little brother. When each of my boys were born, I had a special gift for the big brother(s) from their little brother and this would have been the perfect card to go with those. I just loved stacking these cute koalas and coloring them. It was a super simple card but I love how it all came together.
My second card was inspired by a moment in my day when it felt like the boys were just all over me. We were playing duck duck goose and, as anyone with a crew of boys knows, it quickly turned into a wrestling match. We finished our fun and I came right in to make a card with my three cute koala boys hanging all over mom. Super fun!
The next set that I got to play with was Campout.
Do I even need to say anything? This set is FABULOUS! I am so glad to have it in my stash and I have to say, my favorite thing is the way Nicole created all the sentiments. The different scripts...amazing! Here are my creations with this awesome set:
I knew I couldn't wait to use that little lantern on a card and this journaling card was too perfect for a starting point. I love that even a small stamp from this set can be the focus of a card. That just shows how strong each image is on it's own.
This card was a blast! I love LOVE the chevron shapes on the side of this camper and the oval window! Too cute. I would totally haul this adorable camper around. Heck, it might even make a camper out of me. ;) My favorite thing about this whole card? The #JUSTHITCHED sentiment. How clever is that? Super fun!
My final stamp set to show off is Condolences. I don't know about you but I struggle with sympathy cards. I just never know what to say. When I saw this set, I was thrilled. I have some sympathy sets but they all say the same thing. This set says SO much more and it is just what I needed in my collection.
With this set, I have created two of my favorite sympathy cards. As much as I hate needing them, they are a necessity of life and it is nice having a set to really help say what I'm thinking.
I paired the Condolences set with Elegant Flowers to create this card. The roses just fit perfectly with this paper and the soft look of the card made me think of my mother in law who we lost last year. I love that a simple stamped sentiment can express so much feeling and create such an elegant card. I stamped the roses with a light blue ink so that when I colored them with copics, the lines would seem to disappear. It gave them a lovely dreamy quality that I just love.
My final card only needed a sentiment to finish it off. I thought "Forever in our hearts" was just perfect. I paired it with a journaling card I had layered with some coordinating patterned paper. It doesn't get any easier than this but the sentiment makes it look like it took longer than it really did. I'm telling you, Condolences is a must have. You will find yourself turning to it time and time again.
