One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #31

Good morning and happy Monday!  Today I'm playing along with a challenge I discovered while participating in the Altenew Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop, The One-Layer Simplicity Challenge.  The challenge at the moment is to create a one layer card using the theme back in time.  Here's what I came up with:

I happen to love some of the older 1960's mod apple designs and decided to go that route for this challenge.  I started with some grid paper to make lining things up a little easier.  Next, I grabbed the Lil' Inker Designs Teacher Talk Stamps to stamp my design in shades of pink, red, green, and purple.  I added some lines with a copic multi-liner before stamping the sentiment, also from Teacher Talk Stamps, and making it pop using some glossy accents.

I think it captures to feel of those 1960's fabrics and prints.  What do you think?  I hope you had a good time checking out my card and will go play along with the One-Layer Simplicity Challenge.  See you there!   Here's the stamp set I used:

Lil' Inker Designs July Release Day #2

It's day two of the Lil' Inker Designs New Release Hop and I get to share even more fun goodies with you today!  I'm sure you've already been eyeing all the awesome new items, lucky for you, you can get it all right now in the Lil' Inker Store.  Hopefully, you checked out all of Karen's amazing creations before hopping here.  If not of it you get lost along the hop you can always find your spot by going to the Lil' Inker Blog.  For now, I'm ready to show off some more fun stuff!

First up, I made this cute little birthday card using The Little Things Stamps, The Little Things Dies, and the Fringe Scalloped Circles Dies.

Boy, did I have fun with The Little Things Stamps.  I really wanted to create a robin like bird so I layered my ink colors on the bird stamp before stamping him.  I think it turned out great!  The texture these stamps have is awesome!  I love the little tick marks and the wings...LOVE!  I also stamped my leaves and flower with various ink colors layered on my stamps.  Next, I cut the images using The Little Things Dies.  Now, I had these adorable images but no idea what I was going to do with them.  Ha ha!  I found this woodgrain paper and decided to let another paper peek through a hole that I cut using the Fringe Scalloped Circles Dies.  After playing around, I decided to have the hole in the corner of the card.  I them wrapped some patterned vellum stamped with a sentiment from The Little Things Stamps around the card before layering on my bird and floral branch.  Here's a closer look:

Next up, I created a little teacher gift using Fringe Scalloped Circles Dies, Everyday Word Tag Dies, and the previously released Teacher Talk Stamps, Apple Pieces Die Set, and the Teacher Word Die.

I saw this cute jar at Target and then noticed the fun ribbon and twine.  I knew it was meant for a project for this release.  I filled my jar with teas for immune boosting and cold care since I know teachers get exposed to EVERYTHING!  Next, I got to work on this tag by cutting a Fringe Scalloped Circle from some school dictionary patterned paper.  I thought this would help focus attention on my sentiment created using the Everyday Word Tag Die cut from blackboard handwriting paper and the Teacher Word Die cut from red.  I layered these with my apple stamped and cut with Teacher Talk Stamps and Apple Pieces Die Set on the tag.  The yellow twine was perfect to hold my tag tied to the top of the jar with the alphabet ribbon.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you enjoyed my creations and will join the rest of the team on the hop.  You'll want to leave comments along the way because Laura gives out a $15 Lil' Inker Designs store credit to a lucky commenter each day of the hop.  It could be you.  I'm sure I'll see you on the hop and tomorrow for another fun day of release projects.  See you then!

Lil' Inker Designs Septemeber Release Day #3

Well, it's the last day of our new release hop at Lil' Inker Designs and I'm super excited to show off these last couple products but before we get into all that I have to make sure you are coming here after visiting Sarah.  If not, head on over to the the Lil' Inker Blog so you don't miss a a stop on the hop.  You won't want to miss a thing!  While you are visiting the Lil' Inker Blog, make sure you go check out the Lil' Inker Store where all of the new release goodies, and a whole lot more, are ready and waiting for you to put in your cart.  Now it's time to show off these fantastic products!  I've only got one card today but I think you'll really like it.

I home school my boys so if I was to make teacher cards, I'd be making them for myself.  Ha ha!  Luckily, I have a ton of teachers in this family of mine and sometimes, I like to let them know that they are awesome even if they aren't "officially" my boys' teacher.  They still play a big roll in our lives.  It takes a village, right?  I'm kind of in love with the new Teacher Talk Stamps.  Those apples are SO modern and fun.  I can see tons of possibilities.  Here's what I did with them.

I started with a stone colored card base and stamped some apples in colors that matched this neat number paper I used to line the shaker portions of my card which I made using the Apple Pieces Die Set.  So cute!!  Next, I cut a tag using Anytime Tags Die Set 2 from vellum and stamped my sentiment from Teacher Talk Stamps.  I folded the top portion of the tag over the edge of the card to give me the look of a banner then added my red Teacher Word Die to the banner.  I love the script of this die and it's the PERFECT size for all kinds of uses.  To finish off my card, I added an arrow clip just below the sentiment.
