Monday Funday: Simon Says Stamp

 Happy Monday and I hope you all had an amazing weekend. It was chilly here but I got some spring cleaning done and I'm calling that a success. I also got to have a little fun this week with the Simon Wednesday Challenge. I have played along with challenge a few times here or there but I had no idea they have been going strong for 12 years. That is absolutely amazing! I'm always in need of birthday cards so this theme was right up my alley. Here's what I created:

I have to admit, I sort of floundered around while creating this card. I really had no real direction other than knowing I wanted to use the Healing Hugs stamp set. I bought it awhile ago and I just love the flowers so I embossed them in white on a black card base before coloring them in with colored pencils. I had no idea what color to color the dots so I went with a purplish magenta color and now I'm not so sure if I like that decision since I also used it for the sentiment cut out. I added the die cut with some foam tape and for the life of me, I'm not sure why I didn't pop of the centers of the letters with foam also. Who knows. I finished it all off with a little ha ha sentiment to make sure it reads as a birthday card. Here's a closer look:

Not my favorite card that I have made but I don't hate it either. It's just ho hum but I hope you liked it and come play over at Simon Wednesday Challenge. I'd love to see your creation also

Anything Goes @ Simon Wednesday Challenge

Good morning everyone!  This week I decided to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge because it's anything goes time.  Woo hoo!  I couldn't wait to play along and here's what I created.

I used more of my new Reverse Confetti goodies on this card and, boy, do I LOVE them!!  I started with the Envie Wrap Confetti Cuts cut from some gold dotted vellum which I wrapped around my dark sea foam card base.  Then I cut one out of gold and white paper also.  Oh the white, I stamped an image from Roundabout Additions and cut it out with some scissors.  I layered that on my gold cut and trimmed out the bigger circle with scissors also.  After doing all this trimming, I realized that I need the Circles N' Scallops Confetti Cuts desperately.  Ha ha!!  On my list they go.  I finished this card off with some fun gold bling.

Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!

Did everyone enjoy the Super Bowl?  I used the time while my men were distracted to play in my crafty space.  It was blissfully quiet downstairs and I even got to play in some challenges!  I feel like it has been FOREVER since I've done that.  It was awesome!  Today I'm going to share with you the card I made for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:  Anything Goes.  I must say that I'm totally gaga for this card and I hope you'll like it also.  ;)

It just so happens that the design team for the challenge is showing off Lil' Inker Designs products with this challenge.  I figured I'd join them in that by sharing this card I made using Stitched Mats:  Side-Stitched Rectangles, All About Ampersands Die Set, and the Perfect Pairs Stamp Set.  I diecut my smaller Side-Stitched Rectangle and then masked the edges over the stitching before stamping my Perfect Pairs background.  I colored all my pairs in black & white except for my adorable PB & J.  I wanted them to be the highlight of the card along with my sentiment made using some cork alphabet stickers and the All About Ampersands Die Set which I cut in black and then layered over some vellum.  I then stamped and embossed a sentiment from Perfect Pairs under my ampersand and layered all of that on a purple card base that I added some detail to with the large rectangle from the Side-Stitched Rectangles.  Totally fun!
