Hello everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my take on this week's CAS(E) this Sketch
challenge! The boys and I have been running around making sure
everything is ready for some yucky weather we are supposed to be
expecting later today. We have been pretty warm and haven't had much snow so I guess it's time
for some. I could live without the dropping temp and the wind but I
guess it is a good excuse to get some card making in and relax with my
boys.
I hope you are having a great week and are ready to play along with us.
I love this sketch and I couldn't wait to get creating. Here's my take:
I have been working on some cards for a nurse friend who works in labor & delivery. She asked me for some sympathy cards for infant loss and it really hit me hard what a difficult job she has and what a difficult job all of our healthcare provider have, especially lately. Such a mixture of joy, pain, reward, and defeat. It truly takes a special person to commit themselves to such a roller coaster and I am so thankful for them! For this card, I wanted to keep things simple so I used a floral from Pinkfresh Studios and colored it with copics. The sentiment is stamped on the simple striped background and then I added my image with a pop of foam tape. It isn't the sketch exactly but I didn't want to do anything too crazy with it to get the sentiment in the center. Here's a closer look:

This is lovely Chrissy - the subtle striped background sets off your florals perfectly and that sentiment is just perfect for infant loss. A tough job dealing with that on a regular basis, for sure.
