CTS #387

Good morning, you guys! Things are starting to settle down just a tad as we started school this week. I can't believe the summer is already over! I know my boys were ready to get to school and hang out with their friends again and I'm ready to have a somewhat normal schedule again. So, I guess it isn't all bad that we are putting summer behind us. I hope that you guys have been enjoying your time off also. I also hope that we have kept you busy with our sketches over at CAS(E) this Sketch! Make sure to check out this week's sketch and the amazing cards the team has created. Here's mine for the week:

I created several cards for the sketch this week or maybe just the same card with different color/element combos? Whatever! These are the two I liked the most and couldn't decide which to use so I used them both. They both start out the same by inking the card base with distress oxide inks. I smudged in different colors to give it an ethereal look. Then my first inclination was to use some glitter clear embossing paint and a stencil with stars layered over the inked smudges. I liked that look but wanted to try stamped stars as well for a bolder look. Then, I stamped and embossed my butterfly image on vellum in both silver and a clear glitter. I decided I liked the look of the silver best but still couldn't decide on which starred background I liked better so I used them both. The butterfly has a sentiment strip attached and foam hidden behind the strip to attach them both and pop them up on the card front. Which do you like better? Here's a closer look:
