LONG weekend!

Good morning!  What a crazy long weekend it has been.  My dad had surgery on his femur Friday and yesterday morning, they operated on the knee.  Each surgery seemed to take FOREVER and I am totally exhausted from the emotion and the waiting.  Being away is SO hard and I just hate not being there for my parents.  So, I'm looking at getting our butts to New York soon.  If nothing else, the boys and I can provide a little comic relief.  Luckily, there was some joy to the weekend as well.  My father-in-law got remarried and it was a crazy fun afternoon.  It is SO nice to see him so happy and his new wife, Kay, is a joy to be around.  We are totally blessed.  Here's a shot of the Larson family and the happy couple.

What fun.  I have a card to share with you guys today.  I made it for a wonderful woman's birthday last week and I just had to share it here.  The sentiment fits her well as she is an incredible woman and friend.  SO very lucky to have met her and have her in my life.  Happy birthday again, Kara!

I used a super fun pocket card for the main part of my sentiment but jazzed it up a bit with some gold thickers.  The card was just a boring pink so I added some strips of other colors to the bottom to liven it up a bit.  Then, I created a banner with another piece of patterned paper and embossed a sentiment from Lil Inker Designs You're Invited stamp set.  I finished the whole thing off with some fun bits of bling that I had in my bling bin.  ;)

Thank you guys SO much for all your thoughts and prayers for my dad.  So far, so good but I know this is going to be a long recovery.  Luckily, he has lots of people that love him.  Hope you have a great day!

  3. Well, a wonderful wedding is a fantastic way to take your mind off things for a little bit. So glad to hear that things are moving along for your Dad and hope your able to get there soon. I absolutely LOVE this card!! I'm always making up words and my grammar isn't always the best (as my husband likes to point out....) so 'incredibler' is the best sentiment I've seen all day. I just wish there was a stamp for it!!!
