June Sweet Stamp Shop Release!

Good morning everyone!  Are you ready for a super SWEET day?  I sure am!  It's release day at Sweet Stamp Shop and, boy, do we have some awesome sets to share!  You will want to make sure you have checked out the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to see all three awesome sets that are available today.  You won't want to miss a single one and the design team has some AMAZING cards to share.  Don't forget to check it out.

I got to play with the cutest set imaginable for this first release (yup, there's going to be another) called Elephant Hearts.  It is adorable and I know you will agree.  Check it out:

How sweet!  I just love the fun sentiments and the balloons...to die for!  I got a little crazy with this set and made three cards.  I also did some reverse stamping to get just the look I wanted for this first card.

Yup, my elephant was just screaming for a buddy to high five!  With a little reverse stamping, it was a cinch to create this fun congrats card.  I layered a couple 3x4 pocket scrapbooking and attached them to the corner of my card.  I then thought it might be cool to cut my card base to the shape made by layering the two cards.  I was really happy with that decision.  My elephants looked so happy that I just knew they needed some glittery stars around them.  Seriously, who wouldn't be happy with glittery stars around them?  Love it!

My next card came about in sort of a silly way.

When I saw this stamp set, one of my first thoughts was Dumbo.  I got thinking about the movie and one part where Dumbo and his mouse friend have had a little too much and start seeing pink elephants.  I started this card with that in mind and every intention of making it a tongue in cheek card with the sentiment "Too Much?  Says Who?" from Sparkle and Shine.  That paired with an elephant holding a martini glass from the Retired Stamps Digi File #2 would have made a super cute 21st birthday card!  Don't you think?  Problem is, when I finished coloring all those cute little pink elephants, it just screamed baby card.  So, Elegant Sentiments hopped into my hands and before I knew it, my funny card turned into a cute card but you can expect some more pink elephants in my future!  ;)

My next card comes from the idea that an elephant never forgets.

Where did the idea to tie a string around your finger to remember something come from?  Any ideas?  I thought it would be a cute way for this little elephant to remember than he can do anything.  I tied some navy twine to my guy's trunk and layered him on this fun memo 3x4 pocket scrapbooking card.  My alpha stickers didn't have an apostrophe so I had to draw one on my "n" sticker with my Uniball white pen (love that thing).  Then I scrounged around my craft area to find some fun papers to layer.  I went with a navy star background to go with my twine but didn't want too much of it so I layered on my green stripey paper to bring out the green "Memo".  I found that tiny scrap of distressed navy hiding next to my paper trimmer and it was PERFECT for the sentiment.  I really love how these colors work together and how they sort of chose themselves from my scraps.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and I hope that you will add this guy to your stamp stash.  It really is amazing how many occasions an elephant works for.  Who knew?  Do you know of any other good elephant euphemisms, jokes, or puns?  I'd love for you to share them in the comments.  They might just make another great card and I know you will make a ton of great cards with Elephant Hearts so, get to the Sweet Stamp Shop store ASAP, check out Elephant Hearts and the other new releases, then fill your cart, and use the AWESOME coupon  JR310 to save a little money on new release stamps today only.  If you mention that I sent you, you'd really be helping a girl out!  ;)  You won't regret it!

Thanks for checking out my blog and I can't wait to see more of what you guys create.  Share it with us in the Flickr gallery and while you are at it, don't miss Danni's awesome color challenge.  You'll have a blast!
