Soda? Pop? Coke?

What do you call it?  Where I grew up in Florida, it was Coke...everything was Coke.  Try working at McDonald's and have someone say, "Oh, just give me a Coke."  Does that really mean Coke or something else?  My parents being from New York called it soda and that's what I have always called it.  Now, I like in the state of pop.  My husband says pop and when I first heard it, I was totally confused and wondered why Iowan's are always talking about their dad.  ;)  I think I have assured that while being raised in Iowa, my kids will say soda.  He he he.  Only time will tell but, of course, when making this fun soda card, I had to ensure that the sentiment I chose referred to it as soda.  Thank goodness the new Frantic Stamper Release has options.  ;)

To create this fun and bubbly card, I started by cutting out my bottles using the Soda or Beer Bottle and Can Dies.  I cut out 6 so that I could do a rainbow of soda.  Next, I added dots to my bottles using a Molotow Grafx masking pen.  I love that these leave a bit of masking fluid on your card and all you have to do is let it dry, ink over it, and simply rub it away to leave fun white space.  It was perfect for my soda bubbles.  I layered my bottles on a piece of striped cardstock and then added my sentiment from Soda Pop/Popcorn Sentiment Stamps on a strip of paper I cut to emulate the striped background with another strip beneath in black.  It needed a little something to anchor the corner of my sentiment so I cut a fun Bottle Caps Dies from silver paper and added a label to it with a design from Soda Pop/Popcorn Sentiment Stamps.  With everything all finished, I decided a little extra bling is never and bad thing.  So, I added an enamel heart to my bottle cap for a little extra something.  Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking our my soda card using the new release items from the Frantic Stamper Release.  I hope you have an awesome day!

  1. We call it Soda here in CT but I knew people that called it Pop. LOVE the fun colors you used oaths and the little dots of "fizz." I think my favorite part of it, though is the bottle cap. It looks SO REAL!!
