Good morning everyone! Well, we are busy packing for an impromptu trip to New York today. I'm heading out on Saturday morning with my boys to go help my mom out. My dad is doing well but I know how nice it is to have an extra set of hands (or 4) when you are trying to adjust to a new "normal" even if it is only temporary. My dad's surgeries went well and I thank you all for being SO amazing! He's headed to the rehab center today to start a tough 8 weeks of rehab. We are all relieved that the surgeries went well but we know the hard stuff is just beginning. My dad is a tough guy and he'll do well but I also know that my mom could use some help from me. Even if I can only help lighten the mood in the house, I will have done my job. ;) So, we are heading out but don't worry...I'm sure I can talk my mom into letting me make a card or two while I'm there. Ha ha! In fact, we have plans to play with copics while I'm visiting and, I'm lucky, since going to my mom's means having pretty much everything I have in my crafty space still at my finger tips. It's nice that we share this crazy hobby. If I could just get them to move to Iowa, we'd save SO much money. ;)
This trip works out well since it also coordinates with a 2-week challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. We are helping our Canadian friends celebrate Thanksgiving this coming week and thought everyone could use an extra week to play along with our awesome sketch. We hope you will like it!
I don't know that my card for this sketch could have been any easier. ;) Check it out.
I used a strip of patterned paper layered under this 4x6 Shine Bright card from a Studio Calico kit as the main card base. Then I simply added a little stamped sentiment and some bling. Seriously, easy! Sometimes, easy is best and I LOVE this card! Super fun and I can't wait to give it to a special birthday gal. ;)
Thanks for checking out my card and I hope you will join us for the two-week challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. The next time you hear from me, I'll be in New York! Have a great day.
I love your card, Chrissy! Fabulous take on the sketch!
