CTS #94

Hi, you guys!  I'm super excited to share this week's sketch with you.  I just love showing off the CAS(E) this Sketch challenges each week.  We all have so much fun and I sure hope you guys do too.  This sketch is so fun and you must go check out all the design team members' takes.  You won't want to miss them.  Here's the sketch:

I made a couple cards using this sketch before I found the one I wanted to use for my blog post.  I think I chose well though.  Ha ha!

I masked off stripes with post its before stamping and embossing "hooray" in white and then masked the embossed sections with post its before re-stamping and embossing the gold.  It took a little tweaking here and there but I like the overall look.  The "hooray" stamp is from the Studio Calico Poet Society Card Kit and the background paper is from My Mind's Eye 6x6 metallic paper pad (which is NOT metallic).  I was disappointed in this paper pad because it isn't even sort of metallic and it turns out I'm not the only one.  I mentioned it at the amazing crafty getaway I got to be a part of this past weekend and I heard that many of my fellow crafters felt let down by the paper also.  Glad I'm not alone!

Speaking of my crafty weekend...it was AWESOME!  I got to hang out with some amazing ladies in the most amazingly inspiring house ever.  I'm so SO thankful to Laurie and Amy for arranging and inviting me to be a part of it.  I got to meet some ladies that I have been following and chatting with for years without ever having met in person and some ladies I had never met but wish I had a long time ago.  It felt like we had all known each other for years and the laughs and smiles didn't stop all weekend.  It was truly one of the greatest weekends of my life.  Here's my favorite picture from the weekend...all of us ladies showing our true colors.  Ha ha!
