Ikat Butterfly

I finally had a little shred of mojo in the craft room today.  I have really been struggling with a lack of ideas.  A large part of the problem is that my craft desk is a mess!  It's covered with scraps and new sets to put away but I just haven't been motivated to clean it.  I think that might be my plan for tomorrow.  I have no doubt that will help matters greatly.

Today's card is for Avery Elle's AEI♥U challenge.

I have played with this card all week and finally came up with something I like.  The inspiration came to me while I was falling asleep (as most of them do).  I wanted to take Blossoms & Blooms and make a butterfly by stamping and then mirror stamping one of the flowers.  For the life of me, I couldn't get mirror stamping to work for me.  However, I could easily use the free cut file to get the butterfly shape I was going for even if I couldn't get my stamping to work with me.  So, I decided to go with what was working and here's what I came up with.  Bright and happy.  I hope you'll come play along!

Stamps:  Ikat, Blooming Banner (Avery Elle)
Dies/Cuts:  Blossoms & Blooms Digital Cut (Avery Elle)
Inks:  Tuxedo Black (Momento), Versamark
Paper:  Aquamarine, Fizz, Lemon Grass (Avery Elle)
Misc:  White Embossing Powder (Zing), 3D Foam Shapes ( Scrapbook Adhesives)

  3. I can never get mirror stamping to work either. Genius idea to use the cut file though and I love the layered mats!
