SYS Day 2 and 3

I have to start out by saying that Day 2's class threw me for a loop.  I love learning to Stretch Your Stamps but what happens when you don't have a stamp of the particular genre being stretched?  Well, you make a card you really don't like.

Day 2 was all about using collage stamps in different ways.  The techniques were neat but not really something I would do and I don't have a single collage stamp because they aren't my style.  I finally made a card with the only collage stamp I could find in my mom's large collection.  It was fun trying something out of my comfort zone but the card...in a word, YUCK.  I hate how it turned out but my mom loved it (doesn't she have to...she's my mom).  Here it is:

Stamps: Not really sure...
Dies:  Labels 24 (Spellbinders)
Inks:  Fired Brick, Peeled Paint (Ranger - Distress Inks), Tuxedo Black (Momento), VersaMark
Paper:  Kraft (Avery Elle)
Misc:  Foam Tape, Green Twine, Red Damask Element (Basic Grey), Smooch Spritz, Bling, Clear Embossing Powder

Day 3 was more my speed and luckily, my mom had many stamp options.  The way we learned to stretch our stamps was to use alphabet stamps in unique ways.  There were some really cool card examples out there.  I guess I never really thought about using alphabets in any way but as an alphabet.  Well, that's changed now!  Check out my use of the letter "Z":

Stamps: Random Alphabet Set, Absolutely Delightful (Simon Says Stamp), Coffee Cozy (Lil' Inker Designs)
Dies:  Labels 24 (Spellbinders)
Inks:  Tuxedo Black (Momento), Hawaiian Shores, Pure Poppy (PTI)
Paper:  Lemon Grass (Avery Elle)
Misc:  Foam Tape, Copics, Peacock Glitter Tape (American Crafts), Decorative Tape (EK Success), Bling

Hope you enjoyed my "ick" card and the one I like! Thanks SO much!!
