Busy, busy, busy

Good morning! I'm finally back from vacation, got the kids settled into school, and am ready for the craziness of harvest to come...well, maybe. I thought I'd hop on finally to share a card I made using some of the new Frantic Stamper goodies released in August. They just happen to work perfectly with our family trip to Maine this summer. We had a blast but, boy, was it humid! I thought growing up in Florida that I knew all there was to know about humidity but Maine taught me a thing of two. It was still a blast watching the boys' first experience with the Atlantic ocean and my first real experience with tides. I know we had them in Florida but nothing like the tide changes in Maine. WOW! The tides went out so far, we could walk out to islands. It was crazy. Here's a photo of my crazy family on one of our walks out to the islands.

How's that for a goofy crew? Now for a card:

I had a blast creating this card I created my own stencil for the rocks using post it notes and then used the new Slimline Clouds Stencil for the clouds and light beams. I did all my inking with distress oxide inks. After building my background, I cut the lighthouse from the new Lighthouses die in both white and red combining the two cuts to create my multicolored light house. Finally, I added a sentiment using the new Hi Hello Word Set cut from white cardstock. I layered my lighthouse scene on a red card base to make the red on the lighthouse pop a little. Here's a closer look:

Thanks so much for checking in with me today. I hope to be on here more often and hopefully sharing some other crafts I'm getting ready to start. Have a great day!

Lil' Inker Designs March Monthly Meetup

It's that time again!  Time for this month's, Lil' Inkers Designs' Monthly Meet Up Challenge.  I'm super excited.  I love a challenge and I love to see so many people sharing their love of Lil' Inker products and showing off what we've been up to with them.  It's almost like we are all hanging out crafting together.  If only we could do that.  Wouldn't it be a blast?  I'll get to all the nitty gritty of the challenge after I show you my creation.

I was going to make a card for the challenge but as I was looking at this cool patterned paper, I thought it deserved to be something a little special so I broke out the Mini Canvas Die and Mini Easel to make a super fun canvas.  I also knew this canvas was screaming for the Girl's Best Friend Diamond Die and the sparkle and shine of gold foil paper.  I just love a little sparkle.  I thought this sentiment from Hello, Awesome Stamp set was just perfect with the Awesome Word Die.  I wish I could show this to you in person because the shine is amazing but also hard to photograph.  I think you get the gist of it though.  ;)

Now, here are the details of this awesome new challenge!
  • Make a new project or share something you've been working on featuring LID goodies!
  • Post this project to your blog or favorite gallery.
  • Link your project to our challenge by using the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post.
  • You have through March 18th at 11:30 PM EST to link your project to be eligible to win a prize.
  • Projects should exclusively feature LID goodies to be eligible to win but do not need to exclusively feature LID goodies to join our Meet Up.
  • This month's prize is a $50 gift certificate to Lil' Inker Designs!
  • Winners will be announced in a new blog post shortly after March 18th.
An amazing prize, right?  So, get to your crafty space and start playing!  We can't wait to see what you are doing with the amazing products from Lil' Inker Designs.  I'll see you over on the Lil' Inker Designs blog!  Can't wait to play along with you.  Here are the products I used today:

Lil' Inker Designs December Release Blog Hop Day 2

It's another awesome day on the Lil' Inker Designs December Release Blog Hop.  I bet you guys all had a great time checking out all the goodies and creations yesterday.  Well, today is just as awesome!  If you didn't know already, the whole release is available right now in the Lil' Inker Store.  Hopefully, you already checked out Amy and her amazing creations.  If not, head on over to the the Lil' Inker Blog so you don't miss a thing.  You will want to start at the tip top of this hop!

Are you ready for some cards?  Well, here's my first creation for today.

I took one look at all the amazing rectangles in the Stitched Mats:  Long & Skinny Rectangles Die Set and knew I wanted to make the keys on a piano.  Maybe it was my son practicing for his piano recital in the background but that is TOTALLY what I saw when I looked at them.  I didn't want a boring piano because these dies are too cool for that so, I decided to have my keys make a wave across the card front.  Then I stamped the first part of my sentiment with the Hello, Awesome Stamp set on a key and placed the Awesome Word Die just so.  To place the sequins, I just dropped a few and glued them down where they landed.  You seriously need ALL of this!

In case you are still on the fence, check these out:

Hello!!!!  The Hello, Awesome Stamp set and Awesome Word Die is just made for card sets.  Just look at how easily these came together.  I started with two already released items, the Quilted Stitched Pattern Die and Stitched Mats:  Rounded Rectangles.  Then, I went to town cutting out awesome after Awesome Word Die.  I embossed some of the sentiments from the Hello, Awesome Stamp set on my rectangles then stuck down my die.  I thought the "awesome" on each card needed a little something extra so I covered them in glossy accents.  My "awesome possum" card got a little extra dose of cute with the possum hanging from the "P".  How cute is he?

Here's the awesomeness I used today:
