Monday Funday

Happy Monday! I've decided that to get myself motivated, creating, and blogging more, I need to have some themes or something a couple times a week on my blog to help with my motivation. So, from here on out Monday will be a day that I get to play along with one of the awesome challenges out there that I haven't gotten to join in on for years. I'm super excited to get to play along and it is SO fun being on the other side. This week I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches because the sketch was just perfect for the card I needed to make. Here's the sketch:

 

Some of the awesome kids of my church are having first communion this week and I needed to make some cards for that. I have had all of them in Sunday school and it is amazing to me how fast they grow up. Here's one of the cards I created using this awesome sketch as inspiration:

 

I created this card with some fun patterned papers at my background. Then I added a cross cut from yellow and surrounded by vines. My sentiment is on a vellum strip that I tore at the end to mimic the little sentiment strip in the sketch. The sentiment on top is cut from matching gray card stock using an older die from Papertrey Ink. Here's a closer look:
