I think you are really going to enjoy this release and all the new inspiration from our team. It's packed with fun, as always and, lucky for you, all the new products are available right now at the Lil' Inker Store! We have an amazing blog hop for you today so, hopefully, you are coming from our new design team member Caly's blog and if not, you won't want to miss her amazing creations! We are super excited to have her with us! So make sure you didn't miss anyone and start at the Lil' Inker Blog. Now for the fun!
My first card uses probably one of my favorite stamp sets EVER, Brushed Plaid Stamps. Oh my, I love every thing about this set and I will be using it a ton. You won't want to miss out on it. My card also features the equally cool Best Mom Stamps, and Best Mom Dies.
I started by stamping this amazing plaid background image from Brushed Plaid Stamps in a stark black on a white card base. In case you didn't know, I'm a sucker for black and white and I love how black makes colors pop. This is a great way to add a punch of black when I would usually have to track down the lone remaining black and white patterned paper in my stash (they are always the first to go). I was super happy with how awesome the plaid looked on an angle and it almost looked like I layered paper to make this happen. Next, I got to work on my florals. I couldn't wait to play with that amazing large flower in the Best Mom Stamps. I think it is so awesome that the same stamp can be used for petals and then flipped for leaves...brilliant! I cut out my large flower with the Best Mom Dies and got to work stamping the petals in a bright coral. Next, I stamped and cut my leaves in two shades of green and another flower from Best Mom Stamps in a mustard. I couldn't decide exactly what to do with the center of my large flower but those dots got the better of me. I added a bit of glossy accents to them for some shine. Once I had all my flowers arranged and placed with adhesive and foam tape, I embossed a sentiment from Best Mom Stamps in gold on vellum and then cut it like a little tab to attach beneath the large flower but the sort of flap there only being attached at one point. I really liked this little bit of added dimension. I added some little filler stamps and enamel dots and the card was done. Here's a closer look:
My next card uses some other pieces of the Brushed Plaid Stamps and the new Hello Word Die Set.
I really love all the brushed elements in the Brushed Plaid Stamps and I wanted to create a very clean card with the stripes. So, I stamped them in a bold black with the "How are you?" sentiment beneath. Next, I cut the Hello Word Die Set from some fun paper that faded from one color to another multiple times to make it thick like chipboard when I glues all the cuts together. I love that it added dimension but now enough to make it hard to mail. I can't wait to play with the Hello Word Die Set more. Especially with the framing layer. It's going to be a blast! The black plaid on the offset is awesome, and really does make the colors pop. Way to showcase the clever large flower stamp and dies- I love that one petal can be used to stamp them all- gives great flexibility with colors of petals...and it's great as a leaf! Finally, I'm digging the use of just the extra stripes from the plaid background to get a totally different look. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards. The black & graphic design of the background stamp really makes everything pop! This is a great release!
