Sweet Stamp Shop: Sketches 2 Ways

Happy Monday!  It's so nice to see you and if you are coming here from the Sweet Stamp Shop blog I've got your extra card peek just below!  If you are just checking my blog because you like me (ah, aren't you sweet!) then I hope you will go check out my series on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog featuring a peek at the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge that will be coming out on Thursday!  That's right, you get a special sneak peak by checking out my post over at the Sweet blog!  Here's a peak at one of the cards you'll see...

Here's card number three that I created using Sketch #61 (coming out on Thursday).

I had some fun with the Elegant Flowers set on this card.  I inked up some watercolor paper with Distress ink because I knew I could have do some interesting things with just water and stamps using Distress ink.  After inking the background, I dipped the flower image in a bowl of water and pressed it on the paper.  This pushed away some of the background color and made a sort of hole for me to later stamp the image in.  I let the drips run whichever way they pleased to add a little more interest to the background.  After the water dried, I went back to all of the "holes" created and stamped the flower image with the original color that I inked the background with.  I liked that it gave me a monochromatic look, especially when layered with a bit of vellum on a similar color card base.  I die cut a sentiment out of silver paper for a bit of shine.  Super simple but super fun!  I hope you'll try this out on a card of your own soon.

If you haven't checked out my post at the Sweet Stamp blog, I hope you head over now.  You'll be rewarded with an exclusive peek at the upcoming sketch and two more cards I made using it.  Also, go check out all the amazing stamps the Sweet Stamp Shop has to offer, you won't regret it!  Especially because I have a coupon code (CSD10) for you that will save you 10%!  Have a great day and I'll be back Thursday with my CAS(E) this Sketch card.  You won't want to miss it!
