Day 3 of Clean & Simple Cards

Day 3 of my Clean & Simple Cards class was another good one!  Julie Ebersole brought us a class on inspiration which was really a good topic for me.  There was tons of good ideas and inspiration but the one thing that really struck me was a technique for getting dimension without the use of foam tape or pop dots.  It was brilliant and I love the clean look it gives.  Julie's suggestion was to use extra cuts of a die to bump it up off a card.  Why did I never think of that?  The best part about it...you can bump your design up as much or as little as you like just by adding more die cut layers.  So, here's my card using the inspiration of this new technique.

I made this card with Enchanted Evening cardstock from Papertrey Ink (PTI) and the Boy Basics: Out of this World stamp and die set.  I cut one set of dies from white cardstock and then 4 sets out of enchanted evening.  The stars are two of the star die cuts glued together and then attached to the card to give just a little pop.  The rocket is layered on 4 enchanted evening cuts to pop it up even more.  I colored the rocket with colored pencils and stamped the sentiment in Fresh Snow PTI ink.  The clouds on the background are from the WPlus9 Heartfelt Mix stamp set which I stamped using Versamark.

This was a fun card to make and I hope you enjoyed it!  Have a great day!
