Monday Funday: The Card Concept

Today I'm playing along with another fun challenge, The Card Concept! I saw the inspiration photo and I just couldn't help but play along. How cute is this:

I just love this summery picture and I had a set with bees that I have been dying to use!! Here's my card:

I started my card by stamping my bee skep and then masking it so I could add the blue distress ink halo. Then I colored in my skep and started stamping bees all around. I just love these little guys!! I stamped my sentiment and then it still felt like it needed something so I filled in with some hearts. It almost felt like a wreath! Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my take on this awesome challenge and I hope to see you over at The Card Concept. Have a great day!

Frantic Friday #4!

It's Friday and I'm SO happy! It has been a long week and I'm ready to unwind for the weekend. I hope you have all had a great week and have something fun planned for the weekend. I wanted to jump on and share another awesome group of products from the Frantic Stamper release. You really won't regret checking it out. Here's my card for the day:

I loved creating with this card and using this awesome hot air balloon die! I started by creating a sky scene with my cloud stencil. Next, I cut my balloon from three different pieces of patterned paper and then trimmed out bits to merge into one balloon. I wanted to make sure the center part stood out so I outlined it with a black pen. After adding the balloon to my card front, I stamped the sentiment and added some cute hearts to finish it off. It is all attached to a black card base for some contrast. Here's a closer look:

Have a great weekend and thanks for checking in with me!

Why Haven't I Used This #6

Good morning! I hope you are having a great week. How is it only Wednesday? I swear it feels like it should be Friday already. I'm coming at you today with another graduation card. I really think this is the last one I need this year...maybe? I got to go to my first grad party of the year and it actually felt good to have some of that normalcy back in life. I'm not usually a fan of big get togethers because I get anxious but it was nice to see people again. I was in such a people mood that I decided to use one on this grad card. Check it out:

I started this card by embossing my image on some watercolor paper. Next, I used my Karin markers to color my grad and the background. I have to admit that I bought the Karin markers on a whim and it wasn't until this card that I would even say I liked them. They just weren't my "thing" but for some reason using them really clicked on this card. When everything dried, I stamped my sentiment in pace and layered my water color paper on cardstock in school colors. Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card. I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Monday Funday: Freshly Made Sketches

Good morning! Today I have another grad card and I think I am finally caught up. I love making grad cards but I'm learning that I just don't have as many stamps/dies to make them as I thought. Guess that means I'm going to have to go shop...darn. ;) Today, I'm playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and I hope you like my card.

I created my little window panel layer by layering a stencil that I blended with two different colors. I have to admit that it does some crazy things to my eyes! I layered that on a piece of red before adding it to my striped background. Next, I stamped a grad gap to place in the corner and my sentiment cut from red is placed across the bottom. Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today! I hope the hats didn't give you a headache! Ha ha! Have a great day and see you over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Why Haven't I Used That #5

Good morning and welcome to another episode of Why Haven't I Used That! I needed a baby card and, shockingly, my stash of baby themed items is pretty small. So, I was totally surprised that there was actually a set of stamps in that category that I actually haven't used. It will be used today and I absolutely loved using it. How in the world did it get buried for so long? Here's what I created with my awesome set from My Favorite Things:

For this card, I had a great time layering different patterned paper and there is no color combo I love more when you don't know the sex of a baby than yellow with gray. It is just SO cheery! I started my card by stamping my large elephant in a fun sunshine yellow and cutting it down to a smaller strip to run across the middle of my card. Next, I stamped the little elephant on another piece of paper in a butter yellow and cut it out before attaching it to the center strip with some foam tape. I started layering and cutting each patterned paper piece and then attached the whole stack to the card base. A sentiment and some enamel hearts finished the card off just right. Here's another look:

Thanks so much for checking out my card today and I hope you get some use out of some of the products that you haven't inked up also. Have a great day!
