Old School...

Good morning!  My favorite brother's birthday happens to be tomorrow and I'm late making his card.  What a bad sister.  :(  I think I made up for it with the card though.  LOL!  So, my bro is a gamer and I totally remember playing Atari, Commador 64, and Nintendo with him when we were younger.  We thought we were SO cool when we got a Nintendo and we played Mario Brothers for hours on end.  Now, I think he owns every gaming system out there and my original plan was to make his card to look like an XBox controller.  Then I saw the sketch at Retro Sketches for the week and my idea totally changed.  The sketch totally made me think of my old school Nintendo controller and the hours of fun it provided for the both of us.

I worked diligently designing my card in Silhouette Studio and finally, this is what I came up with:

Here's the inside:

How perfect is that for the brother who's turning 30?  The Studio file will be available on my Shared Files page if you want it.

Here's the sketch:

Anyway, it's a loose interpretation of this weeks Retro Sketch but since it was the inspiration for going old school, I thought I'd submit it.  Thanks for looking and I hope you guys have a great day!

  7. Oh, this made me laugh out loud! I love it! I also chuckled to think, um, if he's an old fart at 30, what the heck is he going to be at 50, 60, 70?, ha ha. I think you can get by with using the same expression on each of those decade benchmark birthdays! Very, very clever and personal and he will treasure it!
